"With the uncertainty of not knowing how this would continue...
Times when making a living from art was completely denied to me. My tools lay abandoned in a corner.
On a personal level, I cherished spending all my time with my family… But on the other hand, my other self—the artist—longed to take flight, to paint a wall somewhere. Canvases were never enough to satisfy my urge. So I grabbed paper and anything that could hold my colors, working through the night while my wife and daughter slept.
On a scrap of paper, I gave life to that self… in a self-portrait. I called it Portrait of My Placebo, the only means we had left to express ourselves."
